Airheads

Airheads is a comedy film made in 1994. The plot is that Chazz (Brendan Fraser), Rex (Steve Buscemi), and Pip (Adam Sandler) are a failing rock band called "The Lone Rangers". The band is trying to get a record deal, but everyone is turning them down. When attending a concert of one of their past competition, Sons of Thunder, they realize that in order to get a record deal they need to get their song played on the radio. They decide to get the same radio station that helped Sons of Thunder, KPPX 103.6 "Rebel Radio". So they sneak into the station to try and get their song played. The band goes to DJ Ian "The Shark" (Joe Mantegna) to have their song played and he talks to them while on the air. The manager (Michael McKean) comes in and tells Ian to get them out of here calling them "Hollywood Boulevard trash". Rex gets upset and pulls out a fake uzi and demands that their song be played and take the entire station hostage.

This film is a funny comedy that has a root for the underdog theme. There were quite a few laughs on my part and seeing the technology in 1994 is just a blast from the past. Fraser, Buscemi, and Sandler really pull off the standard rock band that is down on its luck. They also play off each other in the film to make this film very enjoyable. Also the fact that they take an entire station hostage with just a couple of fake uzis is just hysterical and makes you wonder when will the hostages realize that the weapons are fake.
