Weird Science was made in 1985. The story is that two nerds Gary Wallace (Anthony Michael Hall) and Wyatt Donnelly (IIan Mitchell-Smith) are the laugh-stocks of their school. One night after watching the movie Frankstein, the two get the idea of making their own girl from a barbie doll and Wyatt's state of the art computer. The two make her, but it turns out that she also has superhuman abilities like memory manipulation, altering reality and others. Gary and Wyatt end up naming her Lisa (Kelly LeBrock). Throughout the movie Lisa is helping Gary and Wyatt get the girls that they have liked since their got to high school. The problem is that the two girls have boyfriends, Ian (Robert Downey Jr.) and Max(Robert Rusler), that are the ones that harass Gary and Wyatt the most.
This movie is another root for the underdog comedy. Most of the film is Lisa showing Gary and Wyatt all of the good traits that they have, in order to give them confidence around these two girls. Also since the film was made in 1985, you get to see the technology of the time and the way the main characters make Lisa. It is a very funny scene, that made me have to pause the film because i was laughing at it. The film has corny parts, but there are other parts that make the corny parts actually funny.
